Windows 11 Upgrade

Told you need a whole new computer just to run Windows 11? Often you do not. I can get Windows 11 onto plenty of machines that Microsoft's checker turns away, so a perfectly good computer does not end up as e-waste. I do this for people across Stretton and Brisbane, onsite or remotely.

Windows 10 support has ended

Microsoft stopped free security updates for Windows 10 in October 2025. A computer left on an unsupported system misses the patches that guard against new threats, even if it otherwise runs fine. Moving to Windows 11 keeps you protected without changing much about how the machine feels to use.

"Incompatible" does not always mean incompatible

Microsoft's compatibility check knocks back a lot of computers that would run Windows 11 without any trouble, usually over the TPM 2.0 or Secure Boot requirement. I look at what your hardware can actually handle and, where it is safe and sensible, install Windows 11 anyway. That saves you the cost and the waste of buying a machine you did not need.

How I get you onto Windows 11

  • Proper compatibility check. I look at your real hardware, the CPU, RAM, TPM and Secure Boot status, rather than trusting a blanket "not compatible" message.
  • Compatibility bypass. Where it makes sense, I use recognised methods to get Windows 11 running on hardware the checker rejects.
  • Backup first. Your files are backed up before I touch the operating system, so nothing is at risk during the upgrade.
  • Set up afterwards. Drivers, updates and your everyday programs are all checked and working before you get the machine back.

A working computer does not belong in landfill

If your machine still handles everyday jobs well, replacing it purely over a compatibility flag is usually a waste. An upgrade costs a fraction of a new PC and keeps your setup, files and programs exactly as they are, and it keeps working hardware out of landfill a good while longer. If a fresh install is the better call, see my operating system install and repair service, and if the machine is simply sluggish, a tune-up might be all it needs.
