Assistive Technology Setup

I tailor computers, phones, tablets and smart devices to how you see, hear and move, larger fonts, screen magnification, voice control, text-to-speech and hearing support, then teach you how to use it all, hands-on, at your own pace, in your own home. It is set up especially for seniors and anyone with low vision, and I never rush it. I visit homes across Stretton and Brisbane.

Vision or hearing changes should not cost you your independence

Macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts, hearing loss, arthritis, the things that make standard technology frustrating are common, and more so as we get older. Losing comfortable access to email, photos, video calls with the grandkids, online banking and the news is not inevitable. The right setup, done properly, brings all of it back.

Free built-in tools first

Every modern computer, phone and tablet already has powerful accessibility features built in, and most people never know they are there. I start with those, magnification, high-contrast displays, text-to-speech, voice control and hearing support, before suggesting anything you need to buy. If a specific aid or app would genuinely help, I will point you to it, but only if it earns its place.

Hands-on training included

Setting it up is only half the job. I sit with you and go through it until you are comfortable, on your own device, as many times as it takes. For more general lessons see my computer training service, and for getting a new phone or tablet going there is mobile device setup.
